The therapist

Hello, I am Rhona Mc Arthur. I'm a qualified acupuncturist and Shiatsu therapist. I first came in contact with alternative medicine through my previous studies of medical biochemistry. In 1997 I received my diploma in acupuncture from the Shenzhou Open University in Amsterdam after which I did an international exchange at the Kunming Medical University in China for eight months.

Returning to Amsterdam I opened my practice “Akasa". After several years I decided to do a more in depth study of massage and completed the 4 year course of the Iokai shiatsu and the a western medicine diploma in Amsterdam. Since then I have continued working at my practice and also for various private companies.

I believe the body and mind are connected and this is an important aspect of my treatment. As the famous dancer Marta Graham said” The body never lies".
